Jagadguru kavya presented the Mughal Empire as Padmasagara believed Akbar would want his subjects to experience it.

Jagadguru kavya is a Sanskrit poem composed in 1589. The title translates to Poem on the Teacher of the World. It was composed by Padmasagara, a member of the Tapa Gaccha sect of Svetambara Jainism.

The text is supposed to document the life of Hiravijaya, the leader of the Tapa Gaccha from 1544 to 1596. However, it reads more like an account of the Mughals’ rise to power.
