Khushwant Singh wore many hats. He was a professor, a lawyer, a journalist par excellence & a prolific author.

Kushwant Singh was a prolific author. Having witnessed the partition of India first-hand, he wrote about the toll it took on the people of the sub-continent. Many of his stories were fictional. Some of his accounts were journalistic in nature. Others were academic discourses and papers. 

Singh, who is personally agnostic, was very interested in comparative religion. He wrote A History of Sikhs, a thoroughly researched book on Sikhs, in two volumes. Singh not only wrote but also translated and thus widened the reach of important Sikh texts.

The other thing, it appears, was women and sex.

Singh carefully nurtured the image of a “dirty old man” who indulges in sagacious gossip. At times he was a self-confessed ‘pervert’. In his autobiography, he wrote:
