Science, Scientism & Psephological Soothsayers
Is psephological analysis, a science, a statistical model or just some sort of a guesstimate?
Suyash Saxena is an Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer serving the Government of India and is presently stationed in NOIDA, India. He has been writing poems, essays, articles and columns on philosophical themes that have been published in various periodicals and popular journals both nationally and internationally. His writings probe into the philosophical dimensions of events in everyday life and bring out new perspectives to look at them. It has been his endeavour to show through his writings that philosophy is a daily activity of our quotidian lives rather than simply an esoteric academic discipline. His works have been featured in publications such as the Sahitya Akademi's bimonthly journal - Indian Literature (Issue No. 317, Vol. LXIV), Economic and Political Weekly, London School of Economics (LSE) South Asia Blog, Little India (US), Huffington Post, The Hindu among others. The list of my recent publications is available here.
