Black cat omen
The solitary self
Rejected by the world
Piercing yellow eyes
In the unlit evening of the home
A bundle of joy for the night walker
Silhouette on the morning coffee table

As she leaps onto the computer
Pressing random keys on the board
It slurs and blurs scientific equations
Sufficiently indifferent to the vagabond’s love to be loved
She is still a presence and the world absent
