You will enlighten the bearer of the compliment
Who has never been to your country that this vest—
The cut-sleeved jacket is called a Sadri
And is native to your home state Himachal Pradesh.

You will draft a list of its characteristic features in your mind,
Calling it a sad intellectual’s jersey or an ageing politician’s cape
Or a proxy of the Scottish Harris Tweed.
