There is dust everywhere,
On the table, the kitchen sink,
Pile of undergarments, shoe rack,
Old pencil boxes, unread diaries,
Masala tins, father’s armchair.
It has come to stay.
As the day sinks into numberless nights
And visits become less frequent,
She keeps smelling
The old embroidered cushions,
