The Principles That Could Mitigate The Crisis of India’s Farm Laws

Only morality & neutrality can undo the crisis created by flawed policies, corruption & greed.

Farmers in India are protesting against the new farm laws as they feel that “these laws will leave them at the mercy of large corporations and override safeguards against being cheated.”

However, by introducing new farm laws in India, the BJP-led government seems to have ignored the publicity principle, as examined by the philosopher John Rawls.

The ongoing farmers’ protests across India caught the attention of international celebrities like Rihanna and Greta Thunberg, who expressed their concern about India’s farmers’ protests. The R&B megastar Rihanna asked her 100 Million Twitter followers: “Why aren’t we talking about this?” Greta Thunberg, the eighteen-year-old climate change activist, posted on Twitter: “We stand in solidarity with the #FarmersProtest in India.”

After Rihanna’s Tweet went viral, the Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut launched repeated Twitter attacks against the pop star. Commenting on her appearance and qualifications to speak on the subject, she lambasted Rihanna. She went further and called the protesting farmers as terrorists who are trying to divide India.
