Is it possible to realise the ‘two–state solution’?

After 11 days of bombing in Gaza—the largest open-air prison in history, holding 2 million human beings deprived of human rights—a cease-fire came into effect from 2 AM local time, on May 20, 2021.We should be relieved that this senseless violence, obscenely disproportionate on the part of Israel, has ended, at least for the time being. However, we need to raise a few questions.

Who Can Take Credit For The Cease-Fire?

This author holds the view that the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, orchestrated this crisis. He did this in order to remain in office and avoid going into jail on charges of corruption and bribery.

It is to be noted that a few other columnists have also come to the same conclusion. For example, Josef Federman’s report, published by the AP, mentions, without accusing Netanyahu directly, that questions are being raised in Israel as to whether this crisis would have erupted if Israel had a stable government in position.
