Do you think COVID does not affect children? Wrong. A mysterious new infection is afflicting children & teenagers. Here's what you need to know.

You may have heard that COVID does not affect children. Many are under the impression that COVID is affecting mostly older people, particularly those above eighteen years of age. Most vaccinations are also designed for those above the age of eighteen.

The vaccination drive, about to start from May 1, 2021, allows vaccinations for people above the age of 18. But there are no vaccines for children or teenagers.

But please do not assume COVID does not affect children and teenagers. There is significant evidence to suggests that a new, mysterious and inflammatory infection is afflicting children and teenagers. It is called Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome in Children (MIS-C) in the U.S. In Britain, it has a different name–PIMS-TS.

In most cases, children and adolescents were between 1 and 14 years old, with a median age of 9 years. There are some instances where it affected infants below one year and also adolescents below 20 years of age.
