Tamralipti, an ancient copper laden port on the east coast of India, tells the tale of India’s maritime history.

Many ports over the west coast of India, such as Lothal and Baroach, show the vibrant history of trade in the Indian subcontinent. Tamralipti was one of the crucial ports on the east coast. It was a major centre of commercial and cultural exchange. Many literary pieces of evidence present a colourful tale of Tamralipti, but today, nothing remains at its original site to narrate the story.
