Thomas E. Patterson is Bradlee Professor of Government & the Press at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government and the author of several books, most recently “How America Lost Its Mind” and “Is the Republican Party Destroying Itself?” His research has been funded by the Ford, Markle, Smith-Richardson, Pew, Knight, Carnegie, and National Science foundations.
