Priyadarshini Bhattacharya & Suyash Saxena

Priyadarshini Bhattacharya is serving with the government in the IAS. She holds a MSc in Sociology from the London School of Economics & Political Science and MA in Public Management from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. Priyadarshini was with the International Labour Organisation, United Nations, Bangkok and has published a paper on Thailand’s Labour Economy. Her study on ‘A Gendered Analysis on Undernutrition and Malnutrition: A case study on Purulia’ was published as the cover story on Science Reporter’s April 2022 issue. Her interests lie in social anthropology, gender and development economics with special emphasis on vulnerable social and ethnic groups. She is currently serving as Additional District Magistrate in Jalpaiguri, West Bengal. She is a founder of VIRAAM, a gender based independent digital platform that promotes conversations on and healing from subliminal forms of gender based violence.                                                                      Suyash Saxena is an Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer serving the Government of India and is presently stationed in NOIDA, India. He has been writing poems, essays, articles and columns on philosophical themes that have been published in various periodicals and popular journals both nationally and internationally. His writings probe into the philosophical dimensions of events in everyday life and bring out new perspectives to look at them. It has been his endeavour to show through his writings that philosophy is a daily activity of our quotidian lives rather than simply an esoteric academic discipline. His works have been featured in publications such as the Sahitya Akademi's bimonthly journal - Indian Literature (Issue No. 317, Vol. LXIV), Economic and Political Weekly, London School of Economics (LSE) South Asia Blog, Little India (US), Huffington Post, The Hindu among others. The list of my recent publications is available here.
