Nicole Ferdinand, John Bustard & Nigel Williams

Dr Nicole Ferdinand is currently working as part of a collective of academics investigating the ethical and effective use of Artificial Intelligence and emerging technologies in the fields of tourism and events (see: https://responsibleai.blog/ for details). Recent research projects she has been involved with include the Festival Impact Monitor (FestIM), which involved the use of social media data analysis to examine festival and impacts, and the Serviced Networked Artificial Intelligence for Destination Competitiveness (SNAIP-DC), which explored the potential for AI powered chat bots to enhance the event experience. She completed her PhD in Culture, Media and Creative Industries at King's College London in 2015. Nicole is interested in working others who share her passion for the use AI and other technologies for the good of society. Dr John Bustard is part of the research collective RUAIRE, which stands for Responsible Use of AI in Recreation and International Events. The research in this article is part of a larger body of work that is dedicated to using AI and other technologies to improve society. This research has previously benefitted from funding from the Ulster University Research Challenge Fund. For more information, see: https://responsibleai.blog/. I am a Reader in Project Management in the Operations and Systems Management subject group. I am a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), the designation offered by the Project Management Institute (PMI). My principal area of interest is the concept of responsible project management (RPM), where we examine the societal value of projects along with their ethics and sustainability. I enjoy working in and promoting RPM because of the positive impact to which it aspires.
