Maryam Sikander

Maryam Sikander earned my PhD from SOAS, University of London, where she researched humour and satire in the Urdu periodical press, supervised by Prof Francesca Orsini. From 2022 to 2024, she was a Junior Fellow at PMML (formerly Nehru Memorial Museum and Library). She is currently writing a book titled Where Punches Preside: Satire and Parody in the Colonial Contact Zone which has been reviewed by Cambridge University Press. Her non-fiction has appeared in The India Forum and Scroll.in.
