Liana Semchuk

Liana Semchuk received her Ph.D. in Politics from the University of Oxford, Nuffield College. She specializes in contemporary eastern European politics and post-Soviet economy. Her doctoral dissertation explored economic origins of the ongoing conflict in eastern Ukraine against the backdrop of vested interests of financial-industrial groups in Ukraine. Additionally, Liana closely follows and writes about contemporary political developments in Russia and Belarus, as well as in Central Asia.
