James Crossland is a Reader in International History at Liverpool John Moores University, whose present research interests lie in the history of terrorism, panics and propaganda. He is currently completing his third book, 'The Rise of Devils: Fear, Insurrection and the Birth of Modern Terrorism' for Manchester University Press.
