What's the connection between starlight and human emotions? Ivy Luo's poem looks at love through a cosmic lens.

Fast, nervous breaths.
There’s a ballad playing but I have no one to dance with.
Memory is fading, slipping back to the beginning of time.

There were only stars, amidst the blurry space, only stars.
There was no air, for nothing needed to breathe.
There was light, gifted by the stars or gifted to them;

Either way, many ended up admiring one particular star.
Yet none ever came close to love,
for distance could not be measured, for there was no air.

“Can you grasp my emptiness, so then you will be drawn
to fill me with generous warmth.”

“If you would dance this ballad with me, my dear,
only then can I receive your hollow bones.”
