Remnants Of A Trembling Love

Here’s a poem that dives deep into the abyss of love.

I gave all my roses,
Just to be dethroned.
Arranged my love on garlands
And let the thorns prick me

Because the blood I drew
Wasn’t for me,
It was for us solely.

But you seemed blinded by the sun, Made me believe
My soul rests
In a pawn’s hands
Shaded in coal.

You pulled me down,
Showed me stars from the ground,
And glued me to the grass
Scared I could fly?

My love was never yours;
Even when it was withering in my veins
And when you didn’t let me breathe Fate played its cards
My tears imbibed it was either you or me.

Even Earth can be hell
If my fingers can’t feel the stars,
When all I was meant for
Was to fly.

So I left you behind.
Our stars will never cross
Our moons were never the same.
Only if I had known
