A tree in a city inspires Sophia Naz to pen this beautiful verse.

At times a tree in a city is

a tall and lonely sentinel, a natural clock

tower where all the hours untie

their shoelaces, open the trunk

call in search of that rare loot 

a moment of silence, for those

who are already engorged and floating

face down in the kerosene 

like driftwood, a tree in the city is
