Quenching the sun-baked earth, crackling beneath
A canopy of fallen leaves; call of a hardened summer,
Torches of hope, everywhere I see;
Like the darkling thrush of the winter.
Lighting the flames of hope by the roadsides,
The bright red flowers of Gulmohar,
In full bloom, by the break of April.
