Dreaming In Anticipation Of The New

Do you remember the dreams you dreamt of when you saw a blue letter? Here’s poem that takes you on a highway to nostalgia.

We stepped onto a land
That I had only tasted
The gum mailed secure
In the blue and white envelope
A white space bordered
By the interjected blocks
Of blue and red. To my
Little mind it was that realm
A realm of rhythmic drums
And psychedelic lights, me
Dancing, dreaming the night away
From the excitement of the day
Those fumbling fingers exposed
The strip of white in the green
Paper wrapping it tight, it’s
Sweetness a promise to guide
Me through the arid hills, and
Vulturous caves of a land
Tagged to the aspirations of
The blue and white envelope.
