Being Real

These verses reflect on the difficult & often challenging pursuit of being true to oneself.

Being real.
The unflinching
Relentless
Unapologetic quest
That cannot sway
Waver
Or compromise.

To walk the often lonely path
that mocks as it builds a halo.
Thorns that prick, pierce, draw blood
Gales that sweep dust all around
Deep pits to fall right through
to different universes beneath.

To stride along
unseen, unknown.
However.
Whatever.
Wherever.

To know that there is no other way
but to be.
And then, to be.
