Glistening dewdrops usher in yet another radiant day.
Wisps of charcoal flavored smoke greet him –
an amateur fisherman out to try his luck.
Straddled by a spaghetti of nets,
the vessel glides over a film of green calm.
A streak of light tunnels through a cusp.
Formed by a few ‘Sweet Williams’. Silently hugging
the foot of a mammoth Mahogany by the bank.
As if it were their father.
The placid water greets the ray with joy.
They meet every morn to create a shimmer.
Only to betray the ones that want to hide.
Like the silver fishes and the glass-eyed ‘Mugger’.
Unwilling residents – forever molested,
without their consent.
