In 1848 as should be
Sorrieu gave this print of a vision to thee.
Gave citizens of Europe and America homage
To Liberty as we call her, free of bondage.
Men, women and children of all classes
Gather around Liberty in a gigantous mass
While Liberty stands proud and tall
Heralding Freedom’s call.
Holding enlightenment in a torch
And the Charter of Rights of Man scorch
As shambles of autocracy in ruins lie
Underneath the angel studded sky.
