The Brink of War: U.S. Attack on Iran Could Trigger Uncontrollable Conflict

A strike on Iran’s nuclear infrastructure, however tactical it may appear, is a violation of international law, a ‘grossly unconstitutional’ move.

In the early hours of Sunday, 22 June 2025, the United States attacked three nuclear sites in Iran — Fordo, Isfahan and Natanz. The objective, ostensibly, was to destroy Iran’s nuclear enrichment capacity and to ‘stop’ the ‘threat posed by the world’s number one state sponsor of terror.’

The U.S. attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities marks a dangerous turning point in an already volatile Middle East. The strategic logic, of ‘crippling Iran’s nuclear infrastructure,’ may seem sound to hawks in Washington or Tel Aviv. The theoretical posture of ‘peace through strength’ may seem like a strategic victory for America and Israel. Yet the reality could be far more dangerous, leading to disastrous escalation that could spiral into broader conflict that no side can fully control.
