There is a strange creed
That breeds in India: Babu
Nope. Not the sugary
Loving one.
But yep, the sticky one
(A colonial legacy)
They are omnipresent, omniscient, and, yes, omnivorous.
Are they then God?
Can say so. They can predict your future; they know your past
And they can change your present
Do they have some magical power?
Not exactly, but yes, power
Power to linger, power to suck, power to rot
Power to trot, power to destroy your world in a shot
Abracadabra abracadabra
Oops! Your file got lost
It rested, it soiled, it lost its way
(Helpless drip, drop, droop)
They are magicians with indomitable power
Where can one find them?
Told ya, omnipresent
In every department, in every institute, in every organisation
In every sector of India
Reeking, rotting the system
Termites have given up on them
They are staunch in preserving their culture and tradition
And they diligently pass on their legacy to their successors
They are high achievers and even surpass their superiors at times
By the way, they are a leeway, a conduit to their superiors
They don’t shy in asking what they want from you
By the way, they are true nationalists and patriots
They love Gandhi, the printed Gandhi
The bigger the Gandhi, the bigger they beam
Gandhi is also called as Bapu, and they boost to
Have their word’s root somewhere from Bapu’s name
They called themselves Bapu, sorry Babu
My bad. Both “p” and “b” sounds are bilabial plosives.
They can make anyone stoop or fall
They have a strong policy of cash-only
And they know better than you know
They are magicians; at times, they don’t come
Like Kab aata hai kab jaata hai, no one knows
But still, they can handle everything
Not to forget, they can handle their boss, too
Let me correct you. Not boss. It is:
Babu is always right
